Popular Culture Association Presentation on The Green Knight

Kyle recently presented his paper titled The Green Knight and the Myth of the Round Table: Gebser, and Circles in/of Mythic Consciousness. The talk was delivered at the virtual meeting of the Popular Culture Association's annual national conference. The paper deconstructs David Lowery's recent film, The Green Knight, in terms of its use of mythic-style communication, including the frequent application of circular imagery. This communication through mythic signs, narrative form, and taboo themes holds the potential to spark productive expectancy violations for Modern audiences, which may inspire special reflection on the message of the film.
