Dr. Hammonds recently published an article in the Popular Culture Studies Journal. The writing reflects a hermeneutic approach to understanding the film Spider-Man: Far From Home (Watts, 2019) from the lens of Plato's critique of imitative performance. Analysis in the paper includes application of Far From Home as a springboard for examining ethical concerns associated with the digital production of realistic imagery, such as "deep fakes" and misinformation memes.
